The story follows Youth, a young Black man raised in the idyllic hills of California, as he passes through life, learning about himself and the world around him, through music and the people he meets because of it. Throughout his journey for "the real," he gains so much, but is what he gives up too much? Will the ends justify the means? Will everything be alright?
